This composition was inspired by a movie about 20 seconds taken by a friend of mine. It captured the moment of metamorphose, from a pupa to butterfly. I was moved, not only for a miracle of life, but the story why the movie was taken? The pupa had been brought up very carefully by my friend’s son. One morning which was expected a butterfly’s birth, he had to go to school, of course ! He was a junior high school student.
The boy asked his mother to watch over the pupa, and when the time came, let the butterfly fly away from the cage immideately without waiting him, otherwise his or her wings would hurt.
I watched the movie almost thousands of times, imaging an adventure of the butterfly, what he sees? what he meets? Then I sketched some musical image.
Suddenly, I sent this music by mp3 to my friend, artist Laetitia Benat living in Paris with that movie, I was supposed to just say hello and ask how was she doing as the coronavirus spread all over the world. She sympathized a lot for all these little things and offered some visuals. Now we’re on process for making an animation concerned with ‘métamorphose’. The drawing on track is one of them.
